SafeCyclist Certification Training

July 14, 2012 SafeCyclist Certification Training for Teachers, Public Safety Officers and Youth Professionals

Bike Texas, a statewide non-profit organization, has developed a comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian safety education curriculum designed for four and fifth grade elementary schools. The SafeCyclist Certification Training provides teachers, public safety and youth professionals with bicycle and pedestrian safety interactive lessons and the curriculum needed to teach these life-saving skills to their students. Participants earn 3 units of professional development credits from TAHPERD.

Bike Texas is offering this course in Houston on Saturday, July 14th, at the City of Houston Code Enforcement Building at 1002 Washington Avenue. Participants should bring $5 for lunch (or your own lunch), dress for activities, and if convenient, please bring your own bicycle.

Attached is some information about a free bicycle safety training for teachers and volunteers that are interested in teaching bicycle safety in the Houston area.  Please pass along to your contacts.
